about 45 minutes until we get to St. Louis for the night. pat’s been driving for 10 or so hours. we’re on to Denver tomorrow. then Salt Lake for the night/following day. excited to get back in Utah. it’s been a while. it’s raining right now. i’ve been taking some video on my camera. that’s nice.
Available from Experimedia.net. This beautiful album came to me out of nowhere from one of Experimedia’s supporters… and what a fantastic surprise it was when I took a listen and discovered how great it was. More surprising yet is this is Clint’s first album. One of my favorite albums of the year and one of those albums that just leaves you at a loss for words. Too beautiful for words. Take a listen and find out for yourself.

Ray Charles - Georgia On My Mind
i’m on my way to a hotel in McDonough. on my way to the new frontier with my amazing fiance.
never heard of this guy, but this is an incredibly smooth jam.
You got me lifted shifted higher than a ceiling
And ooh wee it’s the ultimate feeling
You got me lifted feeling so gifted
Sugar how you get so fly?
Suga suga how you get so fly?
i just shut my laptop on my nipple and then reopened my laptop to blog about the event.
Lady Lazarus — “What It’s Like”
Captured in short moments, but not as if everything is still, it’s more than that. Almost feels as if we’re walking through an abandoned house after a hazy rainstorm passes over. These once coveted trinkets and hung paintings would gather the attention of everyone who passed by. All it’s become is just another building, home to tattered wallpaper and cluttered furniture. Dust settled, but here we are again and we’re guided by a voice, that feels as though it comes from a lost childhood memory. Going through it all, with both the melody and harmony of these undusted keys, we’re almost invited back into this past, but we’ve already been here, standing from a distance where the atmosphere still feels the same, but the chime of the bells and clinks of the glass have suddenly become much more personal.
Mantic is an album that has reminded me of how welcoming a certain sound can be. As if you can jump into the scene of it all and listen to the music the way it was intended. None of this would have really been possible without the way the keys are presented. Melissa (Lady Lazarus) keeps this sound throughout Mantic and so the only way we can experience it again after “Kurosawa’s Dreams and Me”, is to go back to where it all began, to soak in the dreamscape atmosphere and hope we don’t have to wake up for 53:42.

“Caves (11/20/11 DEMO)”
this is my new voice. i’m trying to work with it. my throat still hurts. this sounds a lot better in headphones. i don’t know how to master my own work. it blows, but you know i try. i hope you like it. i’m sure once it’s on a release it’ll be a bit different. the lyrics are as follows.
my hands are porous things
filled up by anything
they know the way to go
but haven’t had the chance to show them
filled up by tiny rings
and holding up by old strings
they fill with anything
with love, how they find it all
“Far Nearer” - Jamie xx
